THE FRIENDS OF ALL SAINTS SOUTHILL

CHARITY NUMBER 1200699

Happy New Year

Thank you for your support during 2025 and we hope you have all enjoyed the events in the year and that you will continue your support in 2026.

The year 2025 has been very successful. The committee has been very busy and we are grateful for their support in organising The Call my Bluff, the Open Gardens at Glebe House by kind permission of Lady Whitbread, The Southill House Tour, The Picnic in the Park with the Rock Choir and the Autumn Walk on Southill Estate, led by Mr Charles Whitbread.

These events raised nearly £6,400. This together with your membership payments and various significant donations and gift aid, has made this the most successful year to date.

For 2026 several events have been put in the diary, We start with a quiz in Broom village hall on the 21st March, followed by the House Tour of Southill House in June. The Rock Choir concert in the park on a Friday at the end of June and the Woodland walk in September. The exact dates for the last three events are not yet available.

We hope that you are able to attend all of these to support the upkeep of the grade 2* listed building. The Friends of All Saints Southill give grants towards the repairs, when requested and if funds are available.

2025 has also been a busy year with the Church Building repairs. The Tower roof has been rebuilt and re-roofed with copper at a cost of £80,000 and the porch roof has been recovered with new copper at a cost of £15,000. This has been paid for by various outside grants, but approximately £50,000 has been contributed by The Friends of All Saints. This is a magnificent contribution.

The total cost of improvements/ repairs to the church building from 2011 onwards is in the region of £320,000, The contributions of the Friends exceeds £130,000 during this 14 year period. A significant sum raised by you all.

We hope that you are able to contribute for the foreseeable future.

Please note that the Friends membership contributions are due at 1st January for those paying annually
